Happy Birthday Zilla !!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY
ZILLA !!

Too bad the old man is missing out on work today. i had all kinds of surprises planned. Oh well. Enjoy the day Boss. I'll try not to bust up the floor.

So, as of this posting, I have a whole whopping TWO followers on Twitter. LoL. Ain't that some shit? And to think, you've guys been missing out on all this fun.

What better way to celebrate someone's birthday than to show a baby being born... while riding in a car?? I've made several people watch this, and as far as we can tell... It's REAL. Wonder if they switched to the carpool lane?

Even Call of Duty teaches you NOT to stand behind the RPG. I'm not sure he's dead, but he's definitely hurting.

Hope your weekend goes well. Bryci in Pink is your Featured Friday. Birthday Boy likes the color pink, so it's the least I could do. Until tomorrow.

Follow Me… but not too close…

Yup, you are seeing this correctly. I am now on Twitter. Before anyone tries to throw up in my face the "Facebook Issue", you need to note one thing: IT'S NOT FACEBOOK!!! It's quick, concise, and has more nudie pics than Fakebook. I actually get a kick out of following obscure celebrities, truth be known, so don't expect a lot of wisdom from me personally. Gary Busey on the other hand is a gold mine. I'll post more details and some examples later today. For now, I guess I'd better Tweet something.

Yosemite Time Lapse

Oooooo..... purty. Hiking Yosemite is definitely on my Bucket List. It's actually a little more in-depth than just hiking, but you can see the importance.

Awesome video. Volume makes it soothing. Full screen makes it more enjoyable. Watch, meditate, watch again. Have a good day!

Super Bowl Is Set

  VS

Super Bowl 46 is set. The last two playoff games were played last night and now the New England Patriots and the will meet in two weeks to settle it all.

I watched the Ravens Lose To The Patriots, and at that point I quit caring. The game itself was fantastic and the reality is that the Ravens lost. New England did NOT clearly beat them. Cundiff, the Ravens kicker, did that himself. Baltimore's kicker a chance to tie the game with :10 seconds left as he shanked a 30-yarder way to the left. watDhell. Someone will be out of a job next year.

Didn't really watch the San Francisco/New York game. Kinda had all my hopes riding on Baltimore. With that said, the game turned out to be a nail biter, buzzer beater that ended on a field goal as well. Deep into overtime, after each team had attempts, Tynes, the NYG kicker, put one through the uprights for the win. Damn. Talk about deja vu.

Now that we know the teams, we can start to discuss the game. I personally think that New England will rape the Giants in an attempt to revenge their last Super Bowl appearance. It's early, so we shall see. I HATE Eli Manning, so you can guess who I'm picking.

R.I.P. Joe Paterno

Joe Paterno
1926 - 2012

Joe Paterno has passed away after battling complications from lung cancer.

From ESPN.com:

Joe Paterno has died at the age of 85 after experiencing serious complications from lung-cancer treatment.

The health of Paterno, who had fought the disease for two months, had grown progressively worse after he recently broke his pelvis in a fall at his home in State College, Pa.

The family announced his death Sunday shortly after 10 a.m. ET., The Associated Press reported.

Paterno died at State College's Mount Nittany Medical Center, where he had been undergoing treatment.

Paterno remained connected to a ventilator into Sunday, individuals close to Paterno's family told The Washington Post.

The newspaper reported the family had communicated to the hospital his wishes not to be kept alive through extreme artificial means.

Joe Paterno won two national championships and a Division I-record 409 games over 46 seasons at Penn State. Joe leaves behind a loving wife, five children, and seventeen grandchildren. The Paterno Family has released the following statement:

It is with great sadness that we announce that Joe Paterno passed away earlier today. His loss leaves a void in our lives that will never be filled.

He died as he lived. He fought hard until the end, stayed positive, thought only of others and constantly reminded everyone of how blessed his life had been. His ambitions were far reaching, but he never believed he had to leave this Happy Valley to achieve them. He was a man devoted to his family, his university, his players and his community.

He has been many things in his life — a soldier, scholar, mentor, coach, friend and father. To my mother he was and is her soul mate, and the last several weeks have shown the strength of their love. To his children and grandchildren he is a shining example of how to live a good, decent and honest life, a standard to which we aspire.

If you've been around this site for any length of time, you know that either Bike Week is mass hysteria. Now let's COMBINE those two. At it's peak, the Harley Rally would bring in somewhere near 500,000 motorcycles and about another 100,00+ car/truck visitors. Those numbers have waned in recent years due to the City of Myrtle Beach trying to eliminate the Rally entirely. In it's prime, Black Bike Week (aka Atlantic Beach Bike Week) brought in about 300,000 bikes and over 500,000 cars/trucks in what amounts to a three day street party. Both weeks have their own distinct problems. Harley Week has a lot of motorcycle traffic. Bikers tend to get drunk and do A LOT of riding. Black Bike Week has A LOT of traffic. A LOT. It has taken me two hours to move a total of 8 blocks, and we have very small blocks.

I don't really expect the two groups to clash. Don't really expect a race war to bust out on Ocean Boulevard. (It is worth noting that the Hells Angels are yearly staple, have a local charter, and have regular run-ins with the Pagans.) I do expect a lot of death, dismemberment, and mayhem. Both groups party, and they party hard. Each week usually comes with at least 3 to 4 fatalities. Now, those numbers are gonna be "competing". Street racing will be rampant. Drunken binges will be the norm. And God help you if you want to go any where quickly. This is gonna get ugly, and fast. More to come as details emerge.

Surfer Friday

I can NOT wait until Summer gets here. And if that surf video doesn't put you in the mood, you are DEAD already. (Vimeo vids are always better full screen.) Just in case, you can check out The Biggest Teahupoo EVER. And NO, it's not a bra commercial.

Feature Friday ties it all together with a nice Pacific Islander. With all that Sun, sea, and sushi, we may make it to the end of the week yet. Did I mention that the Jeep is having mechanical difficulties and I have no ride? Yeah, we'll forget about that for now...... ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND.

Just a Word

Just wanted to give a Proof of Life. The updates are sparse here lately and I apologize for that. I re-arranged my living room/computer area last night, so I'm still plugging things in this morning. Hopefully every thing will be back on track from here on out. Hopefully.

Have a good day.
